Pros

There is a benefit to being in an emerging market, and Gannett is not hesitant about putting money in it to develop new initiatives.

Cons

Considering the nature of the business, it is a constantly evolving environment. If you're not a fan of change, restructuring and being under public scrutiny for the actions of the corporation, this is probably not the place for you.

Pros

Do to Gannett cutting local journalism as much as it possibly can, the newsroom was stretched thin, meaning I got to do impressive assignments that should have gone to more senior staff if such existed. The Tennessean is the best newspaper in Nashville and will propel you to better future gigs. Use this as a stepping stone.

Cons

The pay is insulting and you will be overworked.
