4yHi there - thank you for your feedback. We are happy you enjoy our speciality plant offerings! We're sorry to learn you have a negative impression of the business - our goal is to bring life to people, most importantly our employees. We hope to shed light on areas of opportunity that we continue to grow in.
We do operate with small teams since many of our shops are compact, and some shifts can be worked independently/solo because of this (especially now during the pandemic to ensure proper social distancing). Our Shopkeeper job descriptions indicate that employees will need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds at any given time. If an employee is hurt performing job responsibilities they need to alert management as soon as possible so we can follow our standard operating procedures for injuries in the workplace; if that happened to you and you did not receive the proper support, please alert the People Ops team so we can help.
We acknowledge that working without a functioning air conditioner is very uncomfortable and we sincerely apologize. This issue has since been fixed.
Our retail management team has been trained on proper plant care procedures from our Greenhouse team, and retail management in turn trains all new Shopkeepers on this information as well to ensure plants are healthy. Regardless of their professional background, we expect all of our teammates - especially management - to treat others with respect.
