Pros

Working at a foundation gives you a terrific vantage point and the ability to connect with a range of talented problem-solvers. Opportunity to work on important societal issues. Salaries are competitive. Opportunity to work and travel internationally. smart colleagues

Cons

RF very centralized, organized around the president. Decisions are driven by her preferences and whims rather than by data or evidence. Staff generally demoralized by lack of autonomy and support. Not a creative place.

Pros

Not sure this role exists anymore, but associate positions at Rockefeller are/were great experiences if you had a great manager, especially if you're looking for what's next and need some flexible but valuable work in the interim. Also a great way to get on their radar for future openings in the long term, but keep in mind that it's very, very unlikely (read: essentially impossible) you would be able to get brought in-house full-time after any associate position.

Cons

All depends on the team you're on for the experience you'll have.
