Snake Pit-Owner is a money hungry bully - Director The Renfrew Center Employee Review

Pros

The mission and many of the therapists

Cons

The owner and senior managers are belittling bullies with an incestuous environment. Employees are micro managed and treated poorly. Their pay scale is low . I was warned to run away from this place by several therapists in the Philadelphia area because of their reputation. I wish I had never stepped foot in the place. It's a dysfunctional place throughout. The irony is that the owner is fairly awful to women and this is supposed to be a place for women (and men too) to find treatment and safety.

Pros

You have less responsibility as an evening counselor in regards to therapeutic sessions. You get a lot of experience doing crisis work and helping folks avoid crisis. I really enjoyed the role in working with the patients in a less intense role.

Cons

There is no support from higher ups. We were chronically understaffed, to a scary degree. The patient's treatment team did not communicate well with evening staff, so we were left in the dark about a lot regarding patient care.
