Pros
Nothing differentiating; pay is good, insurance is good; They’re competitive. There's nothing that would make you say, "Wow you work for RMR!"
Cons
The CIO has historically been a rude, abusive bully with a penchant for demeaning folks both in meetings and in the privacy of his office. In 20 years I have not witnessed such blatant disrespect for skilled professional staff. Make no mistake, no one ever left the organization because the CIO wanted to be too progressive. Both he and his principal director have elevated (and unjustifiable) senses of their own importance and sophistication, and while not stupid people by any stretch, have had a consistent knack for demotivating and ultimately driving out a considerable amount if IT talent. They meddle and disempower. They don't trust their folks, are myopic, and egocentric. Upper "management"...aka the ownership...will tell you that they pay attention to reviews and feedback but have received a considerable amount of consistent reports regarding this dynamic duo. They could care less and for the most part seem stuck in an archaic management mode. Go back and look at reviews for REIT Management & Research…the original name, recently changed no doubt in part to try to escape their horrible reputation.
