Pros

Good experience, until it wasn’t, they will stab you in the back. Friendly colleagues in most departments (except Dispatch, which is managed poorly, and is extremely unfriendly) that appreciate your contributions.

Cons

- Pressured to work extra hours unpaid (15 hour shifts with 8am start next day), and Unfair dismissal after 2 years service and a promotion with no contact from HR, no written warnings, no performance meetings, told I had no right to appeal, no reasons provided (only verbally provided weak performance issues reasons despite that fact I was working more than 40 hour weeks for no extra pay) - Management has no idea what they are doing, and they overwork themselves and their employees, then blame the people below them when things go wrong. - I frequently copped the blame for things that weren’t my fault. - The CEO promised me a return to my previous position if my promotion “trial” didn’t work out, but they refused giving me that job back when they sacked me without ANY warning at all

Pros

- Fantastic people! - Was able to apply my pre-press knowledge to my current position - Exposure to wonderful variety artwork - A positive and cooperative environment - An open-door policy with managers & supervisors - Fast paced & never dull

Cons

During holiday season or large sales, the pace goes from zero to sixty very quickly. Being flexible and solution oriented is a must.

Pros

- You get paid for the trial shift.

Cons

- Sweatshop-like environment with bright white hospital lighting. Extremely monotonous, Kafkaesque work. - CEO who think he's improving things when he actually just likes to hear himself to spout pedantic, useless non-solutions. Only adds to the disorganization of the place. - Will fire people without proper training and without warning. Because you're a "freelancer," they can get away with this. You're a replaceable cog. - There's no way all the styrofoam fibers (among other fun aerosols) you're breathing in have a positive impact on your health. Look out for a class-action lawsuit in the next decade.
