Pros

some colleagues can talk about shared workplace trauma

Cons

Where do I begin!?! This place was a small family business that got big and they more and more they have cut corners still expecting the employees to work at a high standard. With awful equipment that doesn’t work and severely underpaying their hair and makeup artists and photographers who are the ones creating the art. Don’t get me started on the preying on of vulnerable people and international students as clients and to be unpaid interns doing jobs paid employees do. Quite possibly the worst upper management I have ever experienced. Completely incompetent, lack of communication.

Pros

Working at The Photo Studio Brisbane has been an incredibly rewarding experience. You get to work alongside genuinely creative and inspiring people every day, which makes the environment both motivating and enjoyable. One of the best parts of the role is being able to hype others up and support them in becoming the best version of themselves. There’s a strong sense of purpose in helping people grow in confidence and creativity. The work-life balance is also really positive, allowing you to stay energised and engaged without feeling burnt out. On top of that, there are plenty of opportunities for growth, which makes it a great place to develop both personally and professionally. Upper management is supportive, encouraging, and always willing to help, which creates a really positive and collaborative culture across the team. The intern program is another standout — it provides real opportunities for local creatives to come in, gain hands-on experience, and learn in a real-time studio environment. Overall, it’s a workplace that genuinely supports creativity, growth, and community.

Cons

Better parking for staff would be helpful.
