Pros

Free lunch. Nice colleagues. Free booze at the office. Industry exposure. You get a paycheck.

Cons

The CEO is a toxic leader whose yearly bonus is higher than 90% of the staff's annual salary. As a non-profit, the 990s are all public. Also worth noting is that the staff are regularly given paltry 2-4% salary increases because "the company is a non-profit and cash-poor", yet the CEO gave himself a $201,546.00 raise between 2021 and 2022. Embracing the "you are lucky to have a job" mentality, mastering the art of micromanagement and rampant wasting of company money, resources, and time, the CEO is openly disliked by the staff, even more since he moved to Florida yet makes the staff be in the office weekly, even with no working air conditioning during hot, New York summers. He has had a revolving door of assistants for as far back as many can remember, and it is for good reason. His EAs are treated poorly, overworked, underpaid, demeaned, and treated like garbage. Sadly, this is not an exaggeration. With meetings now being recorded and summarized by AI, there are several instances of the CEO badmouthing his EA before everyone joins the meeting, and EVERYONE knows it moments after the meeting ends as a summary and full recording of the meeting is emailed to the staff. Unfortunately, Glass Door stopped showing the CEO ratings as part of a company's profile, because when it did, the One Club's CEO had a ZERO percent rating. Let that sink in. ZERO percent. Scroll through the reviews left here and you'll see a very common theme. Great cause, amazing co-workers, terrible CEO. Run, don't walk, from any job listing from this company.

Pros

MacBook, free lunch once per week, location

Cons

1. You Are Expendable Labor • Coordinators exist to be worked then discarded and ignored • $2 "raises" are insulting when executives get luxury budgets • Black staff face daily microaggressions and systemic exclusion 2. COVID Safety? Not a Priority • Actively hid outbreaks during Creative Week • Put staff health at risk for vanity events 3. The Career Graveyard • ZERO promotion opportunities - you'll stagnate for years • No mentorship, no development, just dead ends • Turn over rate is through the roof, several people have quit within the last year. 4. Management Incompetence (upper and lower management) • CEO delegates everything to #2 • Constant disorganization and blame-shifting • Meetings missed, deadlines blown, staff scapegoated • Too arrogant/discriminatory to engage with temporary staff Survival Tips If You're Desperate: ✓ Document every assignment and interaction ✓ Review all pay stubs for "errors" ✓ Never stop job searching -this place goes nowhere and will drop you in a heart beat (they have let go of employees who’ve been there for 10+ years and don’t bat an eye) Final Verdict: A soul-crushing pit where dreams go to die. The only upward mobility you'll find is the exit door.
