Pros
I’m trying to think of any pros from working here and all that I can come up with is that I made some friends who were coworkers of mine.
Cons
1) this company runs off of nepotism ! The only people who get ahead at work are either related to the managers, or in a relationship with managers. 2) no opportunities for upward growth. 3) tips are split (which is not necessarily a bad thing, because rewarding people for their work is good) but corporate has put their own hands into the tip system. Corporate literally tips themselves which is how the Old Spaghetti Factory has a revenue of over $500 million. It’s coming from the customers tips meant for the staff of the restaurant, not corporate. 4) the best schedules, tables, and most generous customers are given to the same servers repeatedly. If you are not the favorite, do not expect a workable schedule. The hours they will Give you do not cover basic necessities. Hours are meant more for teenagers living at home. 5) there is no staff appreciation, no feedback for staff (good or bad), no opportunities to improve, and no feeling of doing rewarding work. 6) managers will make it known that they do not like you. You will not be respected or even treated like a human being so do not expect kindness or decency. 7) workplace bullying is tolerated and normalized. Coworkers will cuss each other out, use racial and homophobic slurs, and management will just laugh it off. 8) you are not given any breaks or rest 9) you will be told to leave if you work more than 5 hours a shift because the second you have reached a 6 hour shift, you are entitled to a missed meal premium. The Spaghetti Factory does not care about their staffs livelihood or if you have a family to support. 10) Management is on their phone snapchatting, FaceTiming their boyfriend/friends, doing anything but assisting staff with their work. 11) no support from management with abusive customers 12) you will not be adequately trained for this position. It is a sink or swim type of situation and they’d rather you sink so that they can continue to blame staff instead of re-evaluating anything on their end. 13) Displayed a complete inability to manage staff conflict. Staff were screaming and cussing at each other in the kitchen regularly and management would walk away rather than manage conflict. 14) you will not be getting any sort of benefits to work here.
