UFCW Union job. Because of the Labor Contract between the Workers and the Company, benefits, wages and Worker protections are excellent. No Union Member can be fired on a whim. Termination requires "just cause."
Cons
It may take new hires six years to reach Journeyman Checker wages. This is because of concessions Workers made with the Company in labor contract negotiations a number of years ago.
The Company closed another store in December 2014. There used to be nine stores in Whatcom County. Now there are four.
Management cuts labor hours, and then ADDS more tasks for the Workers to accomplish.
Management doesn't seem to realize, despite concerns voiced by Workers, that customers will stop shopping at stores when consistently faced with long lines.
