Pros
I began my journey with The Just One Project as a volunteer in 2014. What started as a way to give back to the community eventually became something much bigger. After spending 30 years in the corporate legal world, I made the leap into nonprofit work and joined TJOP full-time three years ago; I just celebrated my 3rd anniversary in January 2026.
I started as an Executive Assistant and have since grown into the role of Director of Special Projects; a progression that speaks volumes about how much this organization values growth, trust, and recognizing people’s strengths and talents. The mission is real, lived, and felt every single day. The work is meaningful, the leadership is compassionate and visionary, and the team is deeply committed to serving the community with dignity and heart.
TJOP is a place where your voice matters, where innovation is encouraged, and where hard work is connected to real impact. It is more than a workplace, it is a mission-driven community. I am constantly inspired by our team and so proud of the work we do everyday and what we accomplish together.
Cons
Like most nonprofits, the work can be fast-paced and emotionally demanding, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. If you care deeply about community impact, this won’t feel like a con.
