Pros

None I can think of.

Cons

We’re opening a new location in Boston University, 2nd day in of doing a trial opening and less than 2 weeks on the job. The C.E.O (Jamal) comes up to me as I’m on register with my full team on the line and says “You need to help more” didn’t pull me aside to talk about what was done incorrectly. This was the first time even being in the line for this company and my first interaction with him and I’m a Manager in training. Bottom line if the C.E.O doesn’t respect someone enough to pull them aside or even let the Area Manager know what I did wrong to correct the action and have a sit down. It just shows the company culture that’s at the head and being passed down! My advice would be steer far away from the company, There are other places that will treat EVERYONE with respect. I never write reviews about any company but this was the first time not seeing a hospitality mindset to your team in a hospitality business.

Pros

The Halal Shack is a real-life “people first” company. There is a strong sense of pride around hospitality and creating a welcoming experience for customers and employees. This cultural ideal isn’t just a talking point but shows up in how the team supports each other day to day. So far, I’ve seen the team be accessible, collaborative and open to feedback. One of the most rewarding parts of working here is the ability to make a visual impact. The company practices a growth mindset and team members can have meaningful ownership over their work and opportunities to step outside their traditional roles. I would say that the is a perfect place for anyone looking for build and problem solve within a fast paced environment.

Cons

With growth comes change, Processes and systems evolve. It’s a great environment for people who can easily adapt in a fast pace environment and enjoy seeing their effects build and improve this growing brand.
