Pros

The kitchen, server and housekeeping staff are all great! They work hard and do a wonderful job keeping the inn, restaurant and function hall clean and things moving smoothly.

Cons

Management charges a service fee to all function hall bills for set-up and break-down/clean up, but they pocket the money instead of giving it to the waitstaff and bartenders. The patrons think the money goes to the staff and will usually not add an additional tip at the end of the night because they assume the "service fee" IS the tip. Additionally, management takes all of the bartender tips from functions and they decide how to divide it up among the staff. This is the only time I have ever seen this happen. I worked some functions as the only bartender for a party of 100 people, had more than $200 in my tip jar and walked out with $20 in my pocket. Bartenders in the function hall are also required to stay and help set up for new functions after they have finished their own work, additionally, their "cabana" bar, is outside with no running water, refrigeration or air-conditioning. In the middle of the summer it is sweltering at night, the mosquitoes are fierce and all of the beer and wine is stuffed into plastic tubs filled with ice, which melts all over the floor causing a slipping hazard. Management also gets angry if a bartender feels they need to shut off a patron who has had too much to drink.
