Pros

My coworkers were beautiful and hard working people. My coworkers were beautiful and hard working people. The immediate team I was part of was sweet. The production team are equally as beautiful and hard working. They are the reason this company exists, and their victories have been the best to witness. There was a cool water dispenser that had different flavors. The location of the office is PRIME REAL ESTATE. It is in the heart of the Arts District. We got free parking. THE MISSION. I want to see Los Angeles free of homelessness, and I genuinely believe that TGK has had an impact on that. THE KEYS. I've witnessed those keys change and empower people's lives. CHARACTER. I'm coming out a better person, because of how difficult this place was.

Cons

LACK. OF. GOOD. LEADERSHIP. The President and CEO are amazing women who have good hearts. However, their leadership skills are the faulty foundation that will cause this company to crumble. Brilliant people can join a company, but EVERYTHING rises and falls with leadership. Leaders NEED to show a sense of vulnerability and healthy communication, even if it's calculated. No one is expecting a leader to cry or express all their emotions, but a sense of humanity within a person in power is necessary. (At least for me to thrive as an employee.) TGK is a small company, but it acts like a big corporation. If I'm working in a start-up environment, I expect the President and CEO to be hands on. As well as, providing consistent communication. There is so much distance and secrecy that the environment constantly feels unsafe, unstable, and not worth my time. I've seen a ton of people get laid off within a short period, which I understand can be part of the business process. However, the lay offs were handled terribly. For such a small company, they were cold, harsh and consistently shocking. I believe that the downfall of TGK is lack of character, both from the leaders and as a company. It experienced success too quickly, which will cause blindspots for weaknesses. Now that it is struggling financially, the blindspots are being revealed with no character to withstand. I can see the leaders searching and they're leaning on the wrong people. Healthy timelines and clear delegation was also lacking. But, I believe this is from the chaos TGK is currently experiencing. I have gotten close-to-fever-type-of-sickness from this place at least 4 times within 3 months. The building needs to be inspected and cleaned. The bathrooms are terrible and I frequently would breathe out of my mouth when ever I used it because it smelled so bad.

Pros

Friendly staff, good music, and flexible schedule.

Cons

Diversity is limited (white diversity), with no hires from the homeless community in over six years, and hard work often goes unrecognized. Additionally, the work environment has been challenging, mainly due to negative interactions among some female employees, and favoritism towards female employees, discrimination.
