Pros

It is a decent place to work after college...for a while. They tend to hire younger staff through staffing agencies, thus multiple employees are hired at once and it is easy to find a niche. They feed you occasionally.

Cons

The building is the definition of an Officespace nightmare. No real windows to speak of, old tall/small cubicles, an absolutely laughable training regimen (one week of training, 3 months of cluelessness and neighbor-asking), dirty 80's carpet, and apparently no janitorial staff (the place is a dust palace). Management refuses to hire more employees despite people quitting weekly. The work is getting more and more out of hand and it's impossible to provide even decent customer service when each employee is working to resolve 100+ claims at any given time. Working for a "non-standard" insurance company providing unsatisfactory help, what a way to live! ...PASS

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the benefits offered here at Sentry, including our PTO program and hybrid work model. Regarding overall work environment, we encourage each associate to have open conversations about their concerns with their manager or Human Resources representative. Pros

Great people, nice office, flexible hybrid/office policy, good benefits.

Cons

Integration into Sentry Ins. has been a struggle. Cultures and processes are very different, but improving over time. Lots of leadership turnover.

Thank you for your review. I’m happy to hear you appreciate all The General has to offer employees—from our culture and benefits to our hybrid work model. As with any large-scale integration, there are bound to be challenges. But we’re proud of how our teams at The General and Sentry work together every day to bridge the gaps. We’re excited for the future as we continue to grow and evolve. Javier Sotelo – Senior Director of Talent
