Pros

Bagels on Wednesdays, experience for your resume, some cool clients

Cons

CEO is the biggest con. Belittles and destroys employees in front of other employees. Was never surrounded by a team long enough to build a relationship because of the insane turnover. Pay sucked. There were some hourly employees that would be forced to work for free over the weekends or after hours for events. If you complained, she'd say she worked for free growing up and it got her to where she is now.

Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts and feelings about your experience and the agency. We are sorry to hear that your experience does not match prior and fellow team members experience. To share some history and truth, The Gab Group was created in 2004 as part of our founding CEO's belief that the power of a team united is greater than the power of one. It is for this reason that our founder established the agency as a team dynamic - a creative agency specializing in multi-disciplines within the field of strategic public relations, marketing, branding, graphic design and exceptional special events. As an agency, we are highly respected by our clients and the media community for delivering exceptional results and operating as a company of tremendous integrity, truth in practice and in message. The Gab Group's average staff retention is 2-5 years. The agency's average client retention is 3-7 years, with some clients having stayed with the company for over 13 years since inception. The company almost never employs hourly workers and opts for full-time support. Team members are valued, respected, recognized and paid competitive salaries and benefits which include quality health, medical insurance, 401K match programs along with ample PTO banks. Forcing an employee to do anything does not align with our mission, belief or code of ethics which we take very seriously, Our environment is creative, fast paced and justly competitive. Everyone's opinion is welcome and heard. The agency seeks to hire and cultivate team members with a passion for excellence and desire for growth. Our CEO is a highly respected, self-starting entrepreneur credited with creating a local agency that ranks nationally for excellence in public relations, marketing and special events. The company wouldn't be regarded as the respected authority and leader it is without having operated with honest business philosophies and integrity. We are really sorry your experience did not match our intention of being South Florida's best place to work. We love our team past and present and have cultivated many over the years. We receive many calls and texts from past employees and interns thanking our CEO and The Gab Group for having led them on the path to success and provided them invaluable work experience that has benefited them personally and professionally in life. Thank you again for your feedback and good luck with your future endeavors.

Pros

Trial by fire - you're thrown in and immediately expected to learn all skills necessary to be a publicist. Good exposure to the industry and some really interesting, high-level clients. You're taught to be self-sufficient and a jack of all traits.

Cons

Management expects too much and doesn't pay enough. Incredibly high turn over due to abusive management and low pay. Catty, toxic environment. Co-workers are egotistical, selfish, and have a tendency to throw you under the bus to get their way. Management also tends to pin employees against one another in a sad attempt to be "transparent." Management also expects high-skill level and professionalism from employees yet they tend to hire the exact opposite to the point where it's embarrassing. Lastly, expected to work "independently" (sans help from CEO/boss) yet everything requires the CEOs approval, who is backlogged to an extreme, which results in things getting to the client wrong/incomplete - but it is always the AE's fault.
