Pros

This is a fantastic place to work if you're looking to grow as a professional. The company offers a unique opportunity to fully develop your clinical skills while working closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team. You're given the autonomy to be creative and unique with your approach, allowing you to build your own style. Beyond clinical work, there is ample room to develop leadership, managerial, and supervisory skills. You get to work with young adults who have complex clinical profiles and family dynamics, and the most rewarding part is actually seeing a direct, daily impact and growth in your clients. A truly supportive and dynamic environment with great potential for long-term career growth.

Cons

Working at this company may not be the best fit if you're looking for a slow-paced 9-5 job. The environment is incredibly fast-paced and requires a lot of energy and hands-on effort from early on. While it's an excellent place for driven professionals to develop their skills quickly, it might not be the best option if you need a more hands-on, guided experience right out of graduate school. The expectation is that you'll jump in and contribute immediately, so if you're not ready to hit the ground running, you might find it challenging.

Pros

The Dorm is the loveliest, most inclusive and progressive space I have ever worked in. The workplace culture is one of constant connection, kindness and fun. You can feel the heart and purpose with which everyone carries themselves in their day to day tasks, and I never doubted my value in the organization thanks to the kind and consistent communication from everyone I crossed paths with. I have also never witnessed such an honest and consistent determination by leadership to constantly be asking and listening to their employees to see where they can do an be better as an organization.

Cons

It can be a fast-paced environment, and is probably best for those who thrive in them!

Pros

The job market is tough right now, no doubt about it. Which is why I was so incredibly lucky to have found a role and opportunity at The Dorm. The interview process was surprisingly fast, and their HR team (specifically Andrys!) was incredibly helpful in not only setting me up for success but answering any questions I had. I had two virtual interviews, followed by one in-person at their NYC location where I directly participated in a meeting – which I loved because it gave me a clear view of what the team dynamics were like. I spent my first 2-3 months onboarding while slowly being immersed in tasks, so that I could be best set up for success. Meeting all the different team members, learning about the Dorm model, while working hands-on on projects helped me quickly get acclimated. Since joining, I have had many opportunities to grow. I value the mentorship I had not only from my supervisor but also my team members and the founders themselves. This support and encourage ment of ideas led to my promotion just 7 months into my role! What I truly love is that the team works in close proximity and you are to communicate directly with different teams and with leadership, meaning you can constantly showcase your ideas and strategies – something I had felt comfortable and welcomed to do right from the start, never feeling like I was too new to share an idea. Now, nearly a year in the role, I have already grown so much as an individual and within my profession, and feel like the work I am doing truly makes a difference.

Cons

If you don’t like working in person (even hybrid), this is probably not the best space for you.
