Pros

The counseling who do individual and group therapy genuinely care

Cons

Unfortunately for this job there are way more cons than there should be. The company operates from a business model and not client focused. In other words it is the "retail world" of counseling. All the cooperate offices and supervisors care about is the money clients bring in and not about the clients needs. Clients are charged for groups they did not attend and you are told to "make up a note" so the company makes money from the insurance company. Clients are kept in treatment longer than they should be as they bring money to the clinic. If the client has a legal issue, forget about it because the client will be there as long as possible or threatened with being given a bad report to whatever legal representative they have. As counselors you are overworked and underpaid, constantly being reminded that you are not doing your job or you are not hitting the monthly quota that the company has set for the clinic. Expect to be bullied and harassed by those in charge so much so that legal action was required for myself. No matter how much you try to get help and advice from cooperate, nothing is ever done. You are required to clock in and out every day but the supervisor changes it and you get docked pay despite you being there. You can advocate and fight for yourself but doing so will only get you doing more work as punishment. Supervisors really do no work and many times ethics and values appear to be compromised as they make clients do things such as get their morning coffee. If you are looking to work here run away fast
