Pros

I'm struggling to think of a pro of working at this place.

Cons

Think carefully before joining The Coding School. There's no real direction, meetings happen all the time, but nothing meaningful comes out of them, and you're left more confused than before. The CEO pushes this idea that she knows best, but won't listen to anyone, even people who clearly know what they're doing. It gets frustrating watching good work get ignored or shut down, only for things to circle back later like nothing happened. There's also this pattern where expectations aren't clear, then suddenly you're blamed for missing something that was never explained. You can find a different place to work. Do not work here.

Pros

CEO is passionate and driven to innovate in the STEM education space and real impact is made as a result. One of the few CEOs who will give you the space and resources to do your work fully and will only come in to micromanage if you majorly mess up. Great work-life balance. Team members always got 5-6 weeks of PTO.

Cons

CEO has made a number of bad hires for senior level positions over the last few years as the organization has grown. They’ve slowed the organization down and created a negative hierarchical culture. A lot of the disgruntled employees here were hired by these senior leaders and then let go by the CEO in the last year. CEO should have acted sooner - it was clear they were incompetent and blamed CEO for any of their problems. Seems to be fixing it now though.

Pros

I don't see a reason why anyone would want to work here. With time, I saw all the smart and positive employees leave. I was one of them.

Cons

The CEO is awful. This horrible person has hired a few minions who have ruined the workplace culture. These evil people do no work but play mindless and childish blame games. They don't want to work but just spread hostile feelings and toxicity. When my patience ended, I left. I haven't regretted that decision ever.
