Pros

As far as development programs go CIGNAs rotation-based Technology Early Career Development Program offers individuals many opportunities to build both technical and business skills, network with a wide variety and level of employees and participate in regular group training events. If you have the desire and motivation to succeed you will.

Cons

When I first joined the program there was no clear direction for new associates - as they are called within the program - and performance/development metrics were not well organized. With that said however I have had the opportunity to see it grow and mature into a more formalized program with a greater degree of support from senior leadership, greater visibility throughout the organization and better transparency into the inner workings of the the Program Office (the group that runs the program). There is still room for improvement, but this only creates more areas of opportunity for new associates to make a difference and stand out in the crowd.

Pros

The Cigna Group overall is a fantastic company to work for! They invest in their employees and do a great job ensuring everyone, in all departments/locations/teams feel as if they matter with the multitude of perks they offer to employees. Many team members were knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to supporting the healthcare industry.

Cons

While employed at Cigna healthcare, I experienced a work environment that often lacked consistent communication, balanced workload distribution, and transparent leadership practices. High-performing employees were frequently expected to absorb additional responsibilities without corresponding support, while shifting expectations and excessive micromanagement created unnecessary stress and instability. Over time, this impacted morale, trust within teams, and overall employee well-being.
