Cons
Management expects RNs to be available 24/7- literally. They use call as an excuse to see patients at night and on weekends. Told by HR since we are salary, we work until the work is done, even if it 90 hrs per week. Have to take 4 hrs of PTO for appointments which are impossible to schedule since we are expected to drop everything outside of work . Decreased 401k contributions, decreased productivity bonus, can't text patients to confirm appointments. Management is lacking in experience and treating nurses with respect. Some nurses are picked on and punished for speaking up about the horrible work environment No one listened to us all the way up the ladder Management is passive aggressive Have to rent cheap tiny cars to see patients more than 85 miles away Getting expenses covered is cumbersome Agency is having to take patients and it is going to be a catastrophe for patient care Patients are only numbers to make money. Nurses are thought of as an expense, and treated as such. Management expects interstate travel through mountain passes in a blizzard with a car the size of a pop can, and probably would kill you in an accident.
