Pros

Benefits after 90 days, employee discount

Cons

Unpredictable schedule - "Flexible scheduling" means that they can post the schedule late, change it without notifying you, call you when you're "late" for a shift you weren't scheduled for the day before, and not give you a day off. Inconsistent management - 190+ employees, but somehow, I was opening the bakery by myself within a week. There are too many employees to keep track of, so they didn't care about little ol' me. Inadequate equipment and tools for the job - You're expected to adapt to unsafe conditions. Some of it was inefficient, some if it was downright dangerous. For instance, when unloading the walk-in freezer by myself, I was advised (by managers and coworkers) to climb on the icy shelves to pull down boxes that I couldn't reach. The ladder didn't fit in the walk-in freezer because it was narrow and cluttered. Disorganized, dirty, exhausting - I thrive in a fast-paced environment, but within the first week, Cheesecake Factory was the most chaotic, exhausting work experience I'd ever had. At the end of the day (which couldn't come soon enough), I felt like everything I did was pointless. There was no clear plan for the shift, so everybody would shuffle around for 10 minutes asking each other "Where am I working today? Are you working here, or over there? Where is the manager?" There was trash, food, and water all over the floor throughout the shift because we hardly had time to go to the restroom, let alone clean and organize.

Pros

The Cheesecake Factory is easily the best company I've ever worked for...and I've been through a lot. Beginning with the company culture, and extending all the way through operations and into our restaurants, I've been inspired every day by the approach everyone takes to their positions and their daily interactions. Other companies hold certain values, but everyone at The Cheesecake Factory believes in and lives by them every day. The warmth and dedication to their individual roles and responsibilities is only amplified by their commitment to integrity, decency, and doing whatever it takes to support every single person else around them. Everyone is not just accepted but welcomed with open arms for who they are and what they bring to the office every day. I couldn't say enough good about this place, and I hope to never leave.

Cons

Like every company that's been around for almost 50 years, it's a little slow to adapt to current times when it comes to technology or a few other recent best practices. But no one is closed to new ideas—it just takes a while for them to take hold. Salary levels are fine, but growth takes time at the company—mainly because no one ever leaves (in a good way)—and that may not be the best fit for everyone. But the pros about this place make it worth it.
