Pros

Lots of options of jeans and clothing. I liked some of the other brands they sold other than bke and buckle black.

Cons

Where should I start… •they train you to practically force people to talk and look at clothing. You also need to keep up with every person you help by writing their name/what they look at on a small sheet called the SPG. Very inconvenient for a fast-pace job. •the management/staff was very cliquey and would constantly talk about me behind my back (I would catch them from time to time) •the other managers would talk badly about the store manager’s way of merchandising. I was training at the time and had a hard time putting out clothing because everyone did it differently. • I was harassed by one manager in particular. Talked down to, blatantly disrespected and eventually was cursed at and threatened to leave and never come back. This was apparently because I was stealing sales and was lazy which is absolutely not true. Buckle is commission based + pay and I learned to take turns with people since I was a child. •I went to the store manager at least 3 times about this particular manager who harassed me and was told “it’s just their personality.” •HR failed me, my store manager failed me and all I got from this place was a terrible form of customer service training and a couple pairs of jeans. THE LIST GOES ON. *I realize I should have gone to HR more with this, but I wrote up a statement like I was told…. And nothing happened*

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
