Pros

Good intentions for developing a fellowship program Being in DC is always a good incentive They do sometimes have free food in the office and the holiday parties are really awesome You get to work with a lot of smart people

Cons

They pay fellows $25,000 BEFORE tax, which ends up being something like $20,000 a year. This translates to like $1800 a month. Rent in DC for a ROOM is like $1100. Metro is like $250. Basically it's not enough to live on so come prepared with a side hustle -For a supposedly progressive magazine they have virtually no people of color working there. And then they write articles about diversity in tech and media etc... -They can do better. Pay people what they are worth and hire new talent. Qwhite a few missed opportunities to be inclusive
