Pros

-Good top and mid-level hires trying to bring a positive change with substantial experience under their belt. -Customer centric approach which helps you develop a sense of care for your customers - something that will always be helpful no matter which field you get in -If you prove your worth, you can get a lot of autonomy and ownership of projects -If you are looking to stay for long term, stock options for employees -Get to travel is you are part of the London team

Cons

-Compensation is not competitive at all, more so, there is no process to determine what level of compensation everyone should be at or how much compensation increase a person deserves, it is completely at the whims and fancies of your leader. You will have to continually ask for compensation to be increased, and even then they will not be able to match market salaries. Very negative aspect is that the management tries to push the stock options and continue to ignore that this will not keep the younger employees in the company. -The few “elite” that joined the company early on have a lot of power without having any actual experience. Although not all of them are a problem, a lot of them continue to move around teams without having a solid output. If something similar is done by any other employee, they are fired. -No strategy for employee career paths, only the “elite” or their friends continue to get promotions while others continue to work hard without any recognition. -Employees use the value “Say it as it is” to be rude to each other. When done by the “elite”, it is applauded, when done by others, they are struck down. -Unhealthy emphasis on working late hours, almost like the “elite” applaud those working 10-12 hours and looking down on those who have a life outside the company.

Pros

SaltPay has an incredible belief in young talent. Very few companies give so much responsibility to people still early in their careers. Young 20-year-olds are granted guidance from extremely successful directors and are urged to run the business and make mistakes. Everyone has a direct line to Edu and Ali. Weekly all-hands meetings are used for anyone in the company to ask questions for the leaders in a segment called Real Talk. The level of transparency and lack of hierarchy is very high. People are empowered to challenge leadership and present their own data-driven opinions. The lack of hierarchy helps foster fluidity so that people can easily change their priorities and work on new projects that they believe will bring more value.

Cons

Since the mission of serving all SMEs in Europe is extremely challenging it is common to see people working long hours to achieve it. It's not frowned upon to leave work earlier (at 6pm) but the culture is based around getting results done and this means people end up wanting to stay longer in order to deliver.
