Pros

The pay is on the higher end of what I’ve had experience with in the industry. Management places a high value on fostering a team mentality and they are very accessible and supportive. There is no micro managing. You know your tasks and you’re in charge of getting them done. I can genuinely say this is one of the best places I’ve ever worked.

Cons

The facilities are not state of the art but they really don’t have to be. You’ll get what you need to succeed. The nature of the equipment rental business can create a very chaotic environment at times, but everyone pitches in to work through it.

Pros

They took us out for a free lunch this one time

Cons

I was hired to be a sales rep and was given pie in the sky promises as to what my day to day would be like. Instead I sat around all day answering the phone and transferring phone calls. I was on a low base pay because I was supposed to be making commission, but I was not allowed to go out into the field and make commission, so I was being paid at a poverty level to answer phones. I had just moved to the area and signed a year lease and was told I needed to relocate to stay with the company. I did not relocate and was treated even more horribly than I was before. I felt like I was treated very differently from all the other people that had just been hired and was never given a fair chance. I also believe I was discriminated against for being Hispanic. Would not recommend. United Rentals is a far superior employer.
