Pros

Started at Tessella 3 months ago. It has been a steep learning curve - they give you plenty of responsibility right away - but *everyone* in the team is incredibly helpful and willing to drop what they're doing and spend time with you helping you to learn. Brilliant opportunities to grow and develop, with a high training budget and good range of training materials. Friendly team. Management make the effort to talk and listen to you - I'm at the lowest technical grade but regularly chat to senior members of staff all the way up to the CEO. There are a wide range of projects that you could end up doing, so plenty of variety. Excellent work life balance to the point where leadership will intervene if you work too many hours. Working weekends is actively discouraged, as is working late. Tessella really have a focused vision and see it through.

Cons

There are a wide range of projects that you could end up doing, so sometimes a project may not be exactly what you're looking for (this is the nature of the business though).

Pros

- Lots of training provided - Exposed to different projects at different companies - Cozy community. The company is small and you will know everyone and will interact with them all the time. I was very close to my colleagues in our office and we were like family. - Company conference in the UK every year

Cons

- I had fantastic direct management but higher-up management did not seem to have clear direction of what to do with the US market. - Sometimes high-up management involved too much into technical decisions, in which they had very little knowledge on the domain, and would cause bad direction in development - Salary not rewarding. Regardless how much one contributed to the revenue and improvements of the company, promotion and salary increase (or even salary adjustment) wouldn't happen until one demands for it. - Bonus scheme was unfair.
