Pros

The guy who hired me was an excellent salesman

Cons

Pretty sure these guys are stealing federal traffic data and then selling it to shady characters. My first assignment was to “gain access” to a trove of federal data without emailing the curators. After finding out that only federal employees can have access to the data, I questioned what the business model was. 3 days later I was fired for an unspecified reason and I was denied unemployment because I was considered a “contractor”. It was unreal! And I got this job at a unlv job fair. Make no mistake these guys are grifters cruising off a lump sum of investment capital. It’s not a business but a legitimate way to steal data that law enforcement has not figured out how to curtail just yet.

This is an unfortunate and entirely false claim. All of the data utilized by Terbine is open source. The company/system add a rich contextualization layer, which allows it to be legally purveyed at a value-added fee. All users of the system are vetted to ensure that no "shady characters" are accessing data feeds.

Pros

I really learned a lot, they mentored me. The other data searchers and engineering people were good to work with. I worked from home and they never bothered me about it

Cons

They ran low on cash when COVID hit, so got laid off. Perhaps I will get hired again when things turn better

Rest assured, things are definitely starting to open up. By all means get vaccinated when you're able to, and keep watching for new job postings as we get back on our feet.

Pros

They offer a better than average salary and benefits package and the office is in a good location downtown. Coworkers were great while they lasted.

Cons

The CEO, David Knight is a total "knightmare" who will jump down your throat at a moments notice often for things that are his fault or honest mistakes. He is a relentless micromanager, who often holds back necessary information. Everyone in the office is constantly walking on eggshells because at any moment he could start yelling at you or a coworker like they are a five-year-old for something that isn't even their fault. You can expect someone to be in tears or close to it at least once a day. They also expect you to be on call 24/7 through Slack and will not hesitate to drop a project on you, without all the necessary information late at night and expect it to be completed perfectly the following morning. They will lure you in with stock options and a good salary but believe me it's not worth it. Employees often quit or are fired without warning after a month or two.
