Pros

I am so happy to have found Tenon Tours! I love the size of the company, because you have so much opportunity to interact with team members across roles, and you can tell that everyone really wants the company to be successful. When we have to adjust our ways of working, everyone is willing to do so in order to make the best possible experience for our travelers. Everyone is supportive of one another and always willing to help each other when needed. It's always a team effort. And our clients love working with us! Some of my favorite benefits: *ability to work remotely / full time remote if you are not near one of the offices *company kickoff once a year where the entire team comes together *your birthday off! *Travel Bank funds to help support our personal travels

Cons

While remote working is both a pro and a con, I wish we had more opportunity to all come together as a company. Very hard to do though as we grow! With the majority of our team working remotely / in clusters and across timezones, communication can be challenging at times, but we are always looking for ways to improve it.

Pros

They have fun. There is a party culture. The company was started by former spring breaker tour operators so they maintain a bit of a frat bro office culture. The leadership are all old friends and the only way to truly break into senior leadership is to buy your way in or already be their old buddy (or both). You will become friendly with everyone there but they won't think twice about stabbing you in the back if it is monetarily expedient.

Cons

Laughably low pay. Frequent layoffs. Shifty commision draw pay practices- its common employees "owe" company money when they are getting paid at 25-30k bi weekly. They hire seasonally and let go people regularly. They share resources with a mexican travel and education travel companies. The educational travel president has a screw loose and has been known to throw phones across the office in rage.

Tenon Tours Response

While I respect the opinions of all past and current employees, I believe it is important to note that I do not believe this was written by an employee of Tenon Tours, but rather one of its former sister companies in a shared office. Tenon Tours is proud to say that 17 of the current 19 employees are female, the average length of employment is 4 years, and the average pay is > $40,000/year. We are in our 11th year of business, with our headquarters now located in Lewes, DE, and continue to grow as a company with a great team in a great environment.
