Most times people do not advance based on competencies and leadership skills, but based on how loud they speak and how nice they are to the boss (often times confused with leadership). Competent, knowledgeable people are hard to find in this company and I can say the same about professional individuals. Also, if you're not italian or argentinian there is only so far you can go in management positions. Italians and argentinians seem much more favored than others in any position. Colleagues are very jealous of one another.
