Pros

- Interesting work being done - nice perks; they feed you (breakfast/lunch/dinner), uber rides, good insurance - everyone works really hard

Cons

- be prepared to eat, sleep and breathe work and only work (no work life balance) - low pay -- no bonuses - no positions to grow into -- flat structure, no career paths or outlook - stressful, hectic and hostile environment (caused by management) - very disorganized, direction is hazy - management really wants to work you to the point of exhaustion and does not care about you as an individual. it's very apparently that they see you as just a worker - management is pretty ruthless -- they insult and berate their partners or any companies that they work with in order to get what they want

Telnyx is a telecom startup competing against a powerful oligopoly of incumbents. We were founded in 2009 by two people in a co-working space and have grown into an international business with operations on two continents. Our employees tend to work more hours than in a large corporate setting; the average work week is 50 hours. Those in leadership positions may work a little more. We do our best to avoid weekend work and maintain an unlimited vacation policy, so our people can find time to recharge. Individuals join the Telnyx team for a variety of reasons, including our competitive base pay and generous equity grants. Every employee has a vested interest in our success as a firm. Our state-of-the-art facilities and best-in-class perks -- gourmet meals, complimentary laundry pick-up/drop-off, and free Ubers to/from work during certain hours -- allow the members of the team to focus their valuable time and resources on our most pressing issues. We pride ourselves on radical transparency within the organization. Our employees have the opportunity to be exposed to the direct business dealings of the C-suite. We work very hard to secure the best possible deals from our vendors while delivering exceptional service to our customers (see our G2Crowd reviews). Some of the largest and most prestigious multinational corporations deal with Telnyx directly on a regular basis. Our flat structure presents unique opportunities and challenges relative to a more traditional hierarchy. Individuals who adapt well to a fluid environment quickly find themselves with high-level responsibilities, the ability to drive progress across the company, and influence with management. We think of ourselves as short-stack of pancakes flat, not single pancake flat. We also believe in open and honest feedback. Telnyx has worked hard to develop a number of "dissent channels" for employees to communicate directly to management. As a result of this review, we have met as a team to think through ideas and implement changes that will enable us to further improve. We thank this former team member for their candid and valuable feedback.

Pros

Remote work, but there is no limit to what management keeps demanding, the nonstop changes forced on us, and the ridiculous expectations pushed every day.

Cons

Just like I said, management's demands never stop. Remote work becomes completely pointless because you are forced to go on-site almost all the time! It feels even more exhausting when you expect to stay home, then suddenly get dragged out and forced to report on-site.

We welcome honest feedback from current and former employees, including critical perspectives. However, we believe transparency matters, and this review contains multiple factual inconsistencies that prevent us from verifying it as originating from an actual employee experience. Telnyx has not employed a "Junior Security Operations Analyst" within our US operations, we do not operate an office in Austin, Texas, and employees in comparable roles are not required to work on-site as described. Our teams operate in a highly technical, fast-paced, and flexible environment with access to modern infrastructure, strong engineering resources, and remote collaboration tools. We remain focused on building a culture centered around ownership, impact, and continuous growth.
