Pros

The employees that are ACTUALLY contributing and doing the meaningful work there are great. Extremely hard working group who is inspiring to be around. Unfortunately that was not enough to keep me and many of others.

Cons

- Long hours trying to make up for upper management's ridiculous decisions. - Continuous turnover due to all of the reasons listed here and the "advice for management" section. Leaves you stuck teaching your new colleague the ropes for 3 months before he/she leaves for something better. - I can't even tell you how many management changes have happened at SGI-DNA/Codex DNA. It seems no matter who leaves or who is brought in, nothing changes. - While some of the people are great to work with, the other's that aren't make it rather unbearable. - No 401k match. - Pay CAN be okay depending where you are in the company.

Pros

- Small company environment means your work is visible and contributions truly matter. - Fast-moving and innovative — great place for people who are motivated, adaptable, and want to grow. - Leadership is approachable and invested in the success of both the business and employees who put in the effort. - Offers a chance to take ownership and have a real impact, rather than being just another number in a huge corporation. - Supportive environment for those who value collaboration and want career growth.

Cons

- As with any small company, things move quickly and the pace can be intense. It’s not the right fit for people who want to coast or just “get by.” - Some departments feel stricter than others depending on management style — but that’s true at any company. - Because of the size, resources can feel limited compared to larger corporations.
