Pros

The technical platform is challenging and high-volume. The city office was well located, in Tower 42. Engineers had good laptops, whiteboards…

Cons

Very immature management team, all 3 founders. The CEO seems more interested in golfing and getting interviewed on TV than to keep clients; we lost our biggest contract when I was there and it led to a huge chunk of the company being laid off immediately. The work environment is emergency-driven with impossible deadlines and outdated tech, with the belief that reinventing the wheel using a poor technical stack (PHP for backend batch processing) was a good use of time in a start-up. There is a serious lack of respect from managers and directors, who feel free to shout and play music in the shared open plan. I stayed less than a year at Telemetry, with many of my colleagues leaving too.

Pros

Great colleagues, good equipment, beer o'clock.

Cons

High employee turnover. Management's solution is to make promises they have no intention of keeping. No benefits and no transparency. Very limited career progression, you are hired for one position and will never advance beyond it in this company. Arguing will result in accusations of not being a team player and being greedy.
