Pros
No shortage of challenges to tackle. Plenty of smart people to learn from. Interesting projects to work on.
Cons
They've started giving bad reviews to older employees so they can be laid off easier without fear of EEOC violations. Chronic mismanagement in some divisions of the company leading to high turnover. Increasing pressure to get products out before they're ready, sacrificing quality and brand reputation for a quick buck. Tektronix is owned by a distant corporation that places shareholder value (one of their core tenets) above employees. Regardless of whether the company is profitable, there are almost always layoffs every year around November 1st (typically older employees), followed by new hires of younger employees a few months later. VPs typically change every 1-3 years, meaning they aren't around long enough to experience the full consequences of their business decisions. Culture has completely eroded in the last few years.
