Pros
- Flexible hours (most employees don't do 40h a week, there never is anyone in the office after 4pm) - Complete lack of pressure (no one cares about most anything) - Free bus pass - A great place to move on your own agenda (everyone there is doing it) - Some amazing people
Cons
Nothing happens there, projects always take forever because the stack is so obsolete and terrible that changing a typo can easily take two weeks. Managment has been told countless times that it was the result of cutting corners way too much but they keep doing it. Most teams are comprised of - Many old timers who are bad at what they do or straight up don't care but will not give any room to new ideas as they don't want to look bad - Some new motivated recruits that quickly quit because of crushing cognitive dissonance There is no documentation and old timers are very happy with it as this is what they owe their position to keeping info locked away. This is especially true in the technological dept. The management has no idea of what they are doing, they have absolutely no ethics and you'll often be asked to use dark patterns to increase greatly exaggerated numbers. They even installed surveillance on everyone's computer without telling the coop (or anyone) in order to check that employees were actually working. The Co-op will take 10% off your salary and you will have no advantage in exchange: no visibility, no say and no compensation. TL;DR Do not go there. Under no circumstances.
