Pros
Admins follow "policy" rigorously even though they can't produce written evidence of it. Pay is decent. Flexible with work habits. The prevailing policy appears to be: Do stuff, stay out of trouble, don't look too closely, collect a paycheck.
Cons
Completely rudderless company. Principal owners (at least one of them), nearing retirement, treat the company as their personal piggy banks. No career path, no feedback, ESOP may or may not actually exist, benefits are almost a liability. Failed management personnel are retained while sacrificing engineering resources for loss of work related to project disasters. No paid time off apart from regular vacation. Sick days come out of vacation. No severance if you are laid off. There is no sales team or coherent strategy.
