I was hired during a time when I was looking to work for a successful matrixed organization

I was over qualified for the job and demeaned with menial tasks simply because I was told not to file a discriminatory complaint against my former boss and continued to do so. I was hired as a graduate student with 7 years of mid level experience to help the program manager secure contracts but was instead made to focus on secretarial work. It was quite humiliating as a woman of color being made to serve two white masters and having my performance review based on that. I was not even given a chance to excel like I had in the past because it was a stale conservative belief that a woman of color should never question the judgement of white conservative men unless it is to grab their cigar, robe and slippers. Never will I ever be stooped to such a career low again.
