Pros

Some employees were very nice and genuine. Lunch time was very generous unless we were on a job and weren't allowed to take a break. Friday's free lunch and weekly breakfast was nice to have. You are moving around on-site and are challenged.

Cons

The owner developed a digital scoreboard, pitting us against each other based on client reviews. If you were near the bottom ranking due to a cranky and technologically ignorant client, consider yourself fired. Just one bad review would send your score into the toilet, which was heavily weighted for anything negative. Working here felt like a popularity contest and had very little basis on how hard we worked on projects. Management was so uninvolved that they never got to know me well personally or took the initiative to see how my projects were progressing. Instead they decided to base their decisions on a quarterly survey which is forced upon all employees to rate each other. Some people used this survey as an opportunity to hurt others they weren't best buddies with or were competing against on the score board. They forced us to read over the negative comments in an uncomfortable manner during our quarterly performance review, many times catching employees off-guard and were left humiliated in front of managers. This created a false stigma by which you are judged and held to long-term. To make matters worse, at the end I was arrogantly told by the owner that this field wasn't for me, a deliberate attempt to hurt any self confidence I had going forward. It was completely uncalled for, I simply couldn't believe this pompous behavior. The truth is, if you want to be used for your talents but never advance to the next level, this is your place. Too many people work here that are content about their management positions for 24 dollars per hour, exactly the type of person TechMD loves, the techie without ambition, the follower. Ironically I ended up making my own successful company and was never happier. On another note, the job was also very demanding for how little pay we received, it was absolutely required that we work 6-7 days a week and come in on the weekends for certification training. If you aren't willing to give up everything in your life for TechMD, you won't make it here. The fact that this place only has 3.5 stars and management periodically pressured all of us to leave glowing reviews on here is sad, it's underhanded and disingenuous to users on glassdoor.

Pros

Remote work, decent paid Holidays don't do nights or weekends much

Cons

low pay compared to the industry, not many raises, company has gone down hill since becoming partly owned by PE firm and bringing in a HR Executive who changed things a lot and doesn't seem to care about employees. Top management has become more distant as company has grown too much by taking over other companies.
