Pros

Client location is close to my home. There is not many technical challenges. No steep learning curves. Management at client side wants out sourcing and is supportive.

Cons

There are so many false promises made when they hired me. I was hired as consultant on CRM and Microsoft dynamics. I ended up at a client where I support decade old applications with a team in India. These applications have nothing to do with CRM and Microsoft dynamics. Even though I and each team members in India are fully charged to one client, we are regularly asked to work on other projects for other clients during the hours billed to main client. This results in double billing and put a lot of pressure on us. The quality of the team in India is already very poor. This double billing further degrades the quality. I have to keep going in iterations and getting them to fix issues.

Pros

Strong learning opportunities: Exposure to modern tools/tech stacks and chances to upskill quickly through real project work. Supportive teammates: Generally collaborative culture where people help each other and knowledge-sharing is encouraged. Good ownership and responsibility: Opportunities to take end-to-end ownership of features/modules, which helps career growth. Client/project exposure: Working on varied projects can build domain knowledge and improve communication/stakeholder skills. Approachable leadership/management (if true for you): Easy to reach out, open to feedback, and supportive during delivery. Fast-paced environment: Good fit if you like moving quickly, solving new problems, and avoiding repetitive work. Process maturity improving: Agile practices (standups, sprint planning, retros) that bring clarity and structure to delivery. Work culture: Professional environment with a focus on getting things done without unnecessary bureaucracy. Career growth: Chances to grow into higher responsibilities (tech lead/mentor roles) based on performance.

Cons

Fast-paced delivery can mean tight timelines, so QA sometimes needs to prioritize critical test coverage and be flexible with scope to meet release dates.
