Would not recommend to any new grad - Anonymous employee Tealeaves Employee Review

TEALEAVES is a psychologically unsafe workplace that targets young female new grads, fosters an environment of gaslighting and belittlement, and lacks structured leadership. When I applied as a new grad, I was so excited to begin my career with this organization. The reality was beyond disappointing. To start, there is no internal HR department. The company outsources its HR function, and the main contact is a relative of one of the founders. As a result, there is no independent or safe avenue to report inappropriate behavior. When concerns are raised, employees are often told they’re being too sensitive or that what they’re experiencing is simply part of a "learning process." The work environment itself is uneven. While some team members are clearly hardworking and talented, others are hired through family or personal connections. These individuals often receive more flexible work arrangements, more trust, and significantly kinder treatment. By contrast, other employees are held to much stricter standards and spoken to in ways that are condescending or dismissive. When these discrepancies are pointed out, they are routinely ignored. Lastly, although this is a small company, the CEO is entirely absent. She does not come into the office, is rarely included in communications, and does not respond to emails. During the interview process, candidates are often told they will receive mentorship from her, but that will not happen. Her role appears to be largely symbolic, used to promote the company as female-led without meaningful leadership involvement. I strongly advise any new graduate to approach this organization with caution. The interview process paints a very different picture from the reality, and many of the promises made are not fulfilled.
