Pros
- Associates are very intelligent and bright people - Great product- unlimited very high-quality tea - If interested in the luxury space, a great opportunity to learn and explore
Cons
- Sell a lie to trusting young women looking to start their careers, sometimes in a new city. What was said during the interview process was not the reality of the job, culture, career development opportunities. Be wary of aspects of the position that sound too good to be true (connections, career dev opportunities, travel). - No diversity in the team- all young women fresh out of university, hired from the same three schools. Leads to groupthink and cattiness. - Upper management does not know what they are doing. The business is not run like a business, or management is too secretive to share too much of what is happening behind the scenes. - Rewards toxic behaviour among senior employees, leaving a culture that absolutely KILLS mental health. The team is full of great people but the company and work suck the life out of them and leads to mental health challenges- so sad. - Become a jack of all trades, master of none. This is a scale-up, so be prepared to do everything. Not necessarily a bad thing, but is not what is communicated in the recruitment process and may not be the path that people are expecting for their careers. Lack of specialization in skills or mastery of proven processes can make it difficult to find a position elsewhere. - Compensation is not competitive, doesn't make up for the other cons.
