Pros
Free tea, thats it. Absolutely nothing else.
Cons
If you are applying for the marketing/graphic design internship, DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME HERE. The entire job description is a lie; you’re not an intern, you’re the entire marketing and advertising team. Not only do you have no one with relevant design experience to help you or teach you thing, but you are also expected to do a lot of sale associate work. And what is defined as sales associate is basically heckling customers to buy our products. You also have a written script that you can not improvise on, you’re basically a robot. The founder of this company is your boss and is a constant liar and always paranoid. I was fired solely because I sent the content I worked on to my email for future reference of experience and to use more up to date Adobe software. Things I thought were ok since he gave me permission to use my personal laptop for video editing software. Said I broke a confidentiality agreement, but I have never signed one and this issue was never brought up. No warning or nothing, immediately fired. I was also accused of writing a “fake” bad review about him personally on the stores google page, I have never done anything like this and was insulted that he thought I was conspiring against the company. Like why would I spend thousands of dollars and stay in a grungy hotel for two weeks just to move up here and sabotage him? Pure ludicrous. He also doesn’t want you doing actual design work, he wants cheesy shutterstock photo fliers done. Trust me, you won’t getting ANYTHING valuable from this experience. I should also add that when I was trying to clear my name and explain why I did what I did, he threatened to press charges against me and have mall security remove me from the store. As a Graphic Designer with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, please trust me. I’ve consulted with my past professors on this issue and they agree with me that this should not have happened. Extremely unprofessional.
