Pros
The CEO is incredibly passionate and motivating, and wins across the company are celebrated frequently. There are also a lot of really great, smart, and friendly individuals working here who I am grateful I met. TaxBit’s product offering is also very cool and solving a huge industry problem.
Cons
Despite my overall positive outlook on the company, the dynamic I was working in was completely unprofessional and mentally unhealthy. The marketing team at TaxBit is mismanaged and from my experience, the rest of the management team seemed to turn a blind eye to this. It is understandable in a startup that HR is still developing, but there wasn’t any effort to check in on employees or provide an outlet for anyone to reach out to. There was also no exit interview or attempt from other leadership to hear my experience, which was very disappointing. In short, this is not a review about excessive workload or crazy deadlines (although that's also true, it's expected with startups). This is about an environment that was extremely manipulative, passive aggressive, and emotionally draining. Until the marketing team at TaxBit is under new management, I would absolutely recommend everyone to stay away from joining this team.
