Pros

Having an insurance background and coming into the broker world for the first time was eye opening for me. Joining Taveo I felt apprehensive as there was so much to learn. There was no need to feel this way - The entire team are excellent and always on hand to help. All of them will sit with you and cover any questions, take time to call you and if your ever in doubt, they will reassure you. Another massive pro is that the CEO himself is very transparent, approachable and always on hand to assist, this makes the company more personable to work for and not something you get everywhere.

Cons

Fast paced environment, not really a con - but if you like things to be slow paced it's not for you.

Pros

The staff themselves were great people and mostly knowledgeable in insurance. Most seem to care about clients and each other.

Cons

New CEO was openly racist, homophobic and sexist even on external meetings with suppliers. No training provided and no job descriptions, KPIs or any guidance on anything useful. No management or leadership. Very toxic environment to work in. Clients need not considered by management.

Taveo Response
1y
Thank you for your recent review of Taveo. Normally we would not respond however this review is quite unhelpful both to ourselves and especially those looking to join an organisation that genuinely appreciates its staff and its clients. In December 2023, the company changed focus from a tech-based insurance broker to a more traditional role. Our technical development side of the business was closed and unfortunately this led to staff redundancies at that time. Since them we have invested heavily in the business moving from a “virtual” business to one with a physical presence. As the working environment changed from 100% remote to a hybrid version, it was inevitable the office-based working would not suit everyone and several changes in roles were required. As well as investing in premises, we heavily invested in our people and have recruited staff at all levels over recent months. Contrary to the review, we fully encouraged training and paid 100% of the qualification fees for employees to further their knowledge. We recently introduced shorter working hours (same salary) for all staff and have continued with our flexible working approach. All our staff receive regular training and communication and all, without exception completed their CPD programme for 2024 in line with industry standards. Our directors take equal opportunities and fairness very seriously and have recently ensured that everyone understands their obligations to their colleagues, regardless of position within the company. All members of staff have completed training on The Workers Protection Act, Dignity at Work and more recently Vulnerable Client Training to ensure no client is compromised to ensure we treat all customers fairly. Our new website will reflect our change in direction towards a more customer-centric operation where we endeavour to provide the very highest levels of service to our clients and we will continue to create our Taveo family among our staff where we encourage openness and transparency at all levels and endeavour to operate with Integrity at all times. A full time Compliance Officer was recently recruited to ensure the company always maintains these standards. We operate an “open door” staff policy and there is regular top to bottom communication. Should there have been any allegations of impropriety made against ANY staff member these would have been investigated by HR immediately with total impartiality. While we acknowledge our company has changed direction over the last 12 months this has been carefully managed and while certain staff more suited to the old regime may have now left Taveo we have been joined by new colleagues who have fitted in well and been welcomed by others. We thank all our staff for their hard work and dedication over what was a difficult, if rewarding last year, and also our loyal and growing client base who we value equally highly.
