Pros

Flexible hours, good pay, nice teammates

Cons

LEADERSHIP TEAM • CEO: He was friendly at first, but very young and this showed whenever he was challenged or didnt get things his way. If you disagreed with him, he would ignore you for days to weeks and have an HR consultant play messenger for him. He was very unprofessional and I believe he was dating an intern at the company too. • Lack of transparency: There's very little information cascaded down from leadership. They don't tell you how the business is performing or who the new clients are, which makes one question if we had any at all. • No direction whatsoever: It was SO UNCLEAR where leadership wanted to go with the company. They kept changing the goal post and how they perceived the company was absolutely delusional. BUSINESS PRACTICES • Firing process: Employees would literally disappear from work one day with 0 explanation. Later learned that if you did get fired, the bosses would just erase you from the comms channels before even telling you and say "X is no longer with us," to the team. • Listening in on private calls: Heard this from a old co-worker, but a manager had a call glitch on him and he was in it but the other participants did not know this. He listened in as the other two participants shared private information with each other. For a "private communication tool", this was quite hypocritical and these glitches happened way too often. • Taking advantage of developing country hires: Much of the remote team were from third world countries and were *paid much less than minimum wage in Canada. There were no holidays, health benefits, or job security for them either. CULTURE • Ignored employee concerns: If you had a problem, they will respond as though they are very supportive and take your concerns seriously. In reality, they don't do anything about it and just leave it alone until work buries the issue. Either that or someone involved gets mysteriously fired. • Not welcoming to non-Canadians: There was a clear divide between the Canadian team and those outside. There was poor treatment towards remote employees and it seemed like the Canada team was always favored. • Bashing and ignorant outlook: The way this company viewed their competition was never healthy. They always bashed them and used this as a means to prop their own product and brand up. Terrible sportsmanship. It was laughable though because it turned out that the Tauria platform was shittier and 10x buggier than even their worst competition.
