Pros

I have worked at this company just over a year, and in that time period there has been substantial growth in all departments. The company is now growing as a whole versus when I first started, I was worried the company was going to go under. With a new CEO (Tony), this company is really turning around with better management.

Cons

Definitely not enough employees for the tasks at hand. Since this is a VERY small company, often times I find that I am completing other employee's tasks or am asked to complete projects that were not in my job description. This can also be interpreted as a positive since one can really learn different fields. Second con- this company is unorganized. There are way too many procedures that do not correlate with one another, and a lot of miscommunication between departments. Often times I find that it can feel like each department is competing against one another instead of working as a team. It is also very unlikely that one will grow with this company. Since it is a small company, there is little growth in a ladder standpoint for a career.

Pros

New CEO is doing alright. There's definitely been a lot of mismanagement in the past and the business practices have a long way to go but every month seems to be better than the last. Depending on which department your in, you can expect a lot of autonomy along with a fair amount of work. There are a couple of inflated egos and since the state of the company "needs improvement" expect to have to do more with less.

Cons

The fact that the company is split down the middle between their differing brands and have been allowed to independently create their own business processes while still utilizing the same systems has created havoc. There needs to be a major push for standardization and much less "Tribal Knowledge". The fact that you'll be expected to know which customers have which billing arrangements and shipping arrangements and change your order entry accordingly is ridiculous. As the supplier, we should be dictating the terms, not the customers.
