Thank you for taking the time to review Tandem as an employer. Honest feedback helps us learn and improve.
I appreciate that you noted Tandem's commitment to 40-hour workweeks and agile work practices, and that you've highlighted the great teammates who work here. Working with kind, interesting coworkers really makes a difference in a person's quality of life.
Tandem is a for-profit, privately owned company. It seems like you are interested in working in a differently structured organization, like a co-op, and Tandem was not a good fit for what you want in a workplace.
We support your suggestion that people should consider founding their own companies that enact their values. Several of our past employees have gone on to form their own organizations and pursue their passions. We celebrate that!
Your feedback about toxicity concerns me. If any of our current employees reading this are experiencing toxicity in our culture, please use one of the avenues available to you to let me know: speak to your manager or any member of the leadership team, speak to me directly, or provide your perspective anonymously at one of our quarterly company retros. I'm proud of Tandem's collaborative and inclusive culture, and it doesn't just 'happen': we have to intentionally cultivate it through conversation, policy, and accountability. There is no need for any past or present employee to feel afraid of providing feedback -- it's the only way we can continuously improve our healthy culture.
