Pros
Involvement with Modern People and creation of company values. The hopeful thinking of management in terms of future plans for the company- although this could be seen as slightly manipulative as these plans are advertised to staff and not followed through with. Culture wise ( not including management) they tend to hire really great people- albeit people with no recruitment experience, but you can make friends here.
Cons
I wasn’t going to write a review, at risk of being labeled merely a “disgruntled ex employee” however seeing another job ad up, stipulating an office with river views (you can see a glimpse of the river between two buildings in front) and monthly social catch ups (this stopped happening long ago), I feel it’s irresponsible for me to not say something. The reality of working at TalentKo is you are sold a dream. The managing director is an impressive woman who has achieved highly in recruitment, but who’s heart is no longer in it. It is still a start up business, with incredibly high turn over. Yet the MD does not have time to be present at work even one day a week consistently. She has many other endeavours she pours her time into instead. Her calling is in what she is now exploring- but with this she needs to ask herself whether TalentKo is where her future really is, as it’s apparent to most people within the business that this company is more an afterthought. TalentKo boasts that it opportunity to those with no prior recruitment experience- which it does and that is great. The flip side of that is they would have no workers if they didn’t. They can’t afford higher salaries or pay increases, even with a promotion. And indeed they don’t attract experienced recruiters due to the companies reputation (google TalentKo) The idea for the company was there, but management delivery hasn’t been there in a long time and that is apparent within the current success of the business and the amount of staff even now still looking to leave.
