Pros

Somehow they manage to hire really nice people that don’t stay long.

Cons

Where to start? First..do NOT believe the positive reviews left here. The CFO, wife and co-owner, pressured employees to leave positive reviews. Those employees are no longer there either The CFO is so cheap that when they have us come in for all-staff company meetings, their “breakfast” was granola bars and the plastic wrapped hard boiled eggs that you buy at the gas station. During COVID, when they were legally required to allow us to work from home, they required us to buy our own cameras, at our own expense. She has also been known to go thru our desk drawers after hours to make sure no one was stashing extra snacks. She regularly complained how many snacks were consumed and considered restricting how many snacks per person. We were given a “contest” needed to EARN a kuerig for the office. The CFO decided to return the new kuerig that was won by our team, and bring her used one from home for the team to use. The CEO, the husband, is the most condescending person alive. He truly believes he is the smartest person in the room and talks down to everyone any chance he gets. You will receive no training. If you ask questions or don’t understand you will be laughed at and mocked or be told you’re not making any sense. The CEO will change his mind about the sales process on a weekly basis. He will change the pricing and not notify anyone. He will change processes in his head, not tell anyone, then talk to you like you’re stupid when you don’t magically know the new process. This is what he refers to as “continuous improvement”. He is obsessed with reports and is constantly having dashboards in Salesforce changed so he can pull any report for any information at any moment it pops into his head. We get very little support and guidance from management because they are always in meetings with him. If you are experiencing internet issues to use your computer in meetings he will say “Oh come on! This is wasting my time!” If you are in a meeting and can’t immediately answer his question you will be told “If you can’t come to a meeting prepared, don’t come at all” Former TZA employees have discussed forming a TZA Support Group. DO NOT JOIN US!!

Thank you for your feedback. TZA is a small but rapidly growing company and there will always be growing pains in this type of environment. Because we are a small team, we have the agility to adapt to both the needs of our markets and our employees and tailor our sales approach and company policies to best meet those needs. We are not a huge corporation where changes in direction are a challenge instead, we prosper in a dynamic world at a pace that can feel frantic to some. Every individual employee at TZA has a direct impact on our overall success and as such we have an expectation that everyone works to be an integral part of the team and stay on top of their responsibilities. Today we have a 100% remote work environment creating the flexibility for our people to prosper while maintaining work-life balance. Our employees value transparency and direct communications so they always know how the company is performing and what is expected of them to contribute to our success.

Pros

I have worked at TZA for around 2 years now and I will say that it has been one of the best jobs that I have worked over the years. Unlike the other reviews that are posted here I have had nothing but good things to say about the management. All interactions that I have had with them have been great and they really work with you to help reach the goals that they set and to make sure that you have everything needed to be successful at your job. I have had jobs in the past where people other than your direct manager have no idea who you are and treat you like a number and I feel that with TZA the owners actually care about you and foster a relationship more like a family rather than just another employee. Starting off working here while they had transitioned to remote work was actually very easy. I felt that even though I was not given any in-person training they were able to provide me everything I needed to be successful at my position starting out. Since the company has gone remote they have started scheduling bi-yearly meetings with everyone in person to talk about the state of the company and allow new members of the team to meet everyone else. At this meeting the provide dinner and entertainment (Including taking us to a Cubs Game) that shows they value us as employees. In addition I feel like at these meetings they actually listen to any concerns that we have and work to make sure that the concerns are addressed. TZA is continuing to grow and new features to the software are being added all of the time which makes the work interesting and keeps the work from feeling monotonous which helps keep from feeling burnout. The goals that they set for my position are not crazy and the tools and help that they provide to reach those goals makes it easy to hit our targets.

Cons

I have not experienced any cons in the 2 years that I have been working here.

Pros

Honestly, the people outside of management are the only pros I can list.

Cons

This company is like the Titanic heading for an iceberg. The CEO knows what he is doing doesn't work, but he does it anyway. I guess that's what happens when your father in law gives you a company to run to which you have absolutely no qualifications. My time with TZA was absolute hell. We were expected to essentially cold call leads that were not qualified at all. It was almost like a telemarketing call center. We would call businesses who had no interest in our product whatsoever and be expected to close a sale. Oh yeah, back to the CEO. Evan Danner has only had one job in his whole life, TZA. He has no idea how to manage a company, even though he tells everyone he does. He degrades his employees so much to the point that they all quit or he fires you. And please do not listen to any of the positive reviews on here, he has his current employees put fake reviews up to make the company look better. If you are considering working at this company, I promise you will regret it. This company will probably be gone by next year due to their garbage culture and terrible sales.

TZA has been in business for 40 years and in our most recent history we have achieved double-digit increases in annual revenue. We attribute that success to a team culture of high-performance and transparency – which unfortunately is not for everyone. It is true our professional Account Executives are expected to prospect for new business in their territories, build pipelines and achieve their sales quota. The success of our Account Executives requires that they fully understand the market and our products’ value to be successful. Our salespeople are not just order takers, and TZA has never terminated a salesperson that was delivering value and achieving quota. It is unfortunate the culture of continuous improvement coaching and transparency at TZA did not align with your desired work environment. We wish you success in your future endeavors.
