Pros
In my experience, being an engineer at TTM requires a much more hands-on approach than at many other companies. Most engineers' desks are on the manufacturing floor allowing for a smooth transition from the desk job part of engineering to performing testing on the floor or supporting manufacturing. The work environment facilitates independent thinking for project ideas and process improvements which allows engineers to present, test, and implement their own ideas, not just ideas flowed down from management. TTM offers a bonus plan based on plant performance which encourages employees at all levels to do their best work. TTM encourages upward mobility into management for strong performers and provides tuition reimbursement opportunities for full-time employees of all levels.
Cons
Pay and work/life balance could be improved. Despite a recent increase, the amount of PTO is still not high enough to compensate for the lack of sick time.
